Size & Care Guide

Everything you need to pick the right throw and keep it looking new. Exact dimensions and material composition are listed on each product page — this guide covers the general rules.

Choosing a size

Throw sizes are a matter of where the blanket will live, not of body measurements. As a guide:

  • Throw (roughly 50" × 60") — a sofa, an armchair, or one person on the couch. This is the size most of our pieces come in.
  • Oversized throw (roughly 60" × 80") — a larger sofa, or two people sharing. Also works draped across the foot of a queen bed.
  • Bed size (roughly 80" × 90" and up) — covers a queen or king bed fully.

If you're between sizes and the throw is mainly for a sofa, size down — a throw that's too large loses its drape. If it's for a bed, size up.

Choosing a texture

  • Faux fur — the plushest and the warmest. Deep pile, heavy drape, the most decorative of the three.
  • Sherpa — warm and soft on both sides, usually reversible. The most practical for everyday use.
  • Knit — lighter and more breathable, with visible texture. Best as a layering piece or for milder rooms.

Care

Faux fur

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, on its own, with a mild detergent. No bleach, no fabric softener — softener coats the fibres and flattens the pile. Tumble dry on low or air dry flat. Once dry, shake the throw out and brush the pile back into direction with your hand. Never iron faux fur.

Sherpa

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Tumble dry low. Avoid high heat, which causes the fleece side to pill.

Knit

Check the product page for the composition first. As a rule: hand wash cold or machine wash on a wool/delicate cycle in a mesh bag, then dry flat. Never hang a wet knit throw — it will stretch out of shape.

General

  • Wash a new throw on its own the first time — plush fabrics shed a little at first.
  • Spot-clean small marks with cold water and a cloth rather than washing the whole piece.
  • Store folded, not compressed, and out of direct sunlight.
